Course Overview

Planning a career in nursing? Children's nurses, in collaboration with other professionals, strive to promote health in children and young people to ensure they enter adulthood in good health.

The course emphasizes a vocational approach to teaching and prepares you for a career in a range of rewarding children's nursing opportunities across primary care, specialist and intensive care children's units. It will develop your abilities as a student nurse to consider the wider aspects influencing children's health needs, preparing you for future leadership in an ever-changing health care system.

Entry Requirement 

Academic Requirements:

  • A Level BBC/A*A* and 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grade 4 or above (previously A*-C) or equivalent; or;
  • BTEC Extended Diploma DMM and 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grade 4 or above (previously A*-C) or equivalent; or;
  • Access to HE Diploma in Nursing or similar with 15 Distinctions and 30 Merits at Level 3 and 15 Credits at Level 2; and GCSEs Maths and English grade 4 or above (previously A*-C) or equivalent; or;
  • Equivalent level 3 qualifications worth 112 UCAS points; and 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grade 4 or above (previously A*-C) or equivalent.
