Course Overview

The course is really flexible, giving you the opportunity to specialize in pharmaceutical chemistry, materials chemistry, or environmental chemistry in your second year. Many of our students also go on to complete the BSc (Hons) Chemistry course after successfully completing the foundation degree qualification.

Throughout the course, you’ll develop a broad knowledge base that is practical in nature, giving you the skills to apply chemical sciences in a professional working environment.

Entry Requirement 

Academic Requirements:

  • A-levels – DDE, including Chemistry grade D; or
  • BTEC Extended Diploma – MPP, including relevant Chemistry modules; or
  • 64 UCAS Tariff points from three A-levels or equivalent qualifications, including an A-level grade D equivalent in Chemistry.
  • GCSE – English, Maths, and Science grade C / 4

English Language Requirements:

If English is not your first language you need to show us that your language skills are strong enough for intensive academic study. We usually ask for an IELTS test and we accept some alternative English language tests.
