Course Overview

This degree is perfect for you if you want to study a mix of human and physical geography in your first year, specializing in human, digital and environmental geographies as you progress through the program.

In Years 2 and 3, we offer a wide range of modules that cover some of the most pressing global and environmental challenges of time, including migration and how this shapes us and the places where we live, environmental governance and justice, climate change, gentrification, energy, and food security, and critical development geographies and geopolitics.

Throughout your degree, there will be an emphasis on gaining practical skills and putting them to use in a critical manner in exciting fieldwork locations in the UK and around the world. You will receive all of the training needed to carry out independent research in a range of contexts. We encourage and train our students to be both critical and creative in their research approaches and methods.

If you decide at the end of Year 1 that you want to specialize in Physical Geography, you can transfer (if your grades are sufficient) to the Geography BSc degree.
