Course Overview

The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences conduct an excellent curriculum to meet the rapidly changing demand of the country and the world. The early part of the B.Pham (Hons) curriculum focuses students on the fundamental knowledge in pharmacy as the foundation for later years. The curriculum is unique in that it starts off with integrated courses where four main disciplines in pharmacy are being taught for each body system studied. Students appreciate this mode of learning as it enhances their understanding. This will serve as a strong foundation later as they practice as pharmacists. Students in the programme experience various attachments to enhance their knowledge and skills in pharmacy. The UCSI pharmacy programme trains students with creative and critical thinking, in addition to the research skills needed for their career advancement.

UCSI University’s Pharmacy curriculum emphasizes the training of professional, competent, and competitive pharmacy graduates by focusing on academic ability, research skills, and soft skills, while also highlighting communication, teamwork, critical thinking, innovative thinking, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

Entry Requirement 

English Language Requirement: 

English language competency requirements are as follows: Minimum Band 3 in MUET; or a minimum score of 5.0 in IELTS; or a minimum score of 42 in TOEFL iBT; or a minimum score of 47 in Pearson Test of English; or a minimum score of 154 in Cambridge English Qualifications and Tests.

International applicants who do not meet the respective academic programme’s English Language Requirement will need to improve their proficiency by enrolling on the English for Tertiary Education programme (R/KJP/00920-00929) which helps them prepare for attaining a required band score. Placement into the various levels of English for Tertiary Education programme depends on the English Language qualification students have at the point of admission and/or the outcome of the English Placement Test.

The applicants who have met the respective academic programme’s English Language Requirement may be advised by Faculty to improve their proficiency by undertaking the additional English proficiency courses.

Note / Legend:

  • UCSI University Senate, on 22 Mac 2017, has approved that the pre-admission interview and chemistry quiz for BPharm (Hons) to be abolished. An eligible candidate shall be admitted into the programme after approval by the Faculty.
  • International students are required to attend a pre-admission interview.
