Careers and your future

A music degree from Brunel University London will prepare you for a broad range of employment in the music industry.

Our graduates are ready for the real world of music and launch careers as singers, songwriters, performance artists, and freelance musicians. Others are working in the film industry or in music studios. Some opt to work in event management, teaching, radio, journalism, or software engineering.

Entry Requirement 

Academic Requirements:

  • GCE A-level BBC
  • BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma DDM in any subject.
  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma DD in any subject, with an A-level at grade B.
  • BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma D in any subject, with A-levels grade BC.
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma 29 points 
  • Obtain a minimum of 112 UCAS tariff points in the Access to HE Diploma with 45 credits at Level 3 

A minimum of five GCSEs are required, including GCSE Mathematics grade C or grade 4 and GCSE English Language grade C or grade 4 or GCSE English Literature grade B or grade 5.

English language Requirements:

  • IELTS: 6.5 (min 5.5 in all areas)
  • Pearson: 58 (51 in all subscores)
  • BrunELT: 65% (min 55% in all areas)
  • TOEFL: 92 (min R18, L17, S20, W17)
