Course Overview

 The aim of the module is to equip the student with the ability to analyse and understand contemporary issues relating to freight transport, warehousing operations and warehouse design within the strategic context of the wider supply chain.

The aims of this module are to develop the students understanding and skills of research in a management subject discipline. To critically review a range of research methodologies and select one most appropriate to address a research need. To critically review a range of research methods and select the one(s) most appropriate to address the research design and to equip students with the skills required for the practical aspects of planning, conducting and producing a Masters level work.

Teaching

Each of the taught modules are delivered over a 12-week period. For those attending classes at the Newport City campus, there are 2 teaching blocks per module.

These are delivered on the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and are timetabled approximately every 6 weeks. For those students who choose to study the course online, the modules are taught using pre-recorded material which is supported by and a series of 8 online synchronous sessions which last approximately an hour each. 

The total recommended study time for a 20-credit module is 200 hours. The dissertation is an individual research project which is supported by a dissertation supervisor who is assigned to each student to guide and mentor them through the research process.

Entry Requirement 

This course requires MCIPS or an equivalent qualification.

Full-Time fee:  

  • 12 months: £13200 per year
  • 18 months with Professional Placement: £14600 per year
