Course Overview

Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT), in partnership with AERO-Bildungs GmbH of Germany, is recognised by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) as an approved center in Malaysia for Aviation Maintenance Training Organization (MTO). UniKL MIAT will offer EASA Part 66 – Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License program.

Successful candidates will be awarded the “Certificate of Recognition” which is recognised as having passed the written examination for EASA License (Category B).

  • B1.2 Aeroplanes Piston
  • B1.4 Helicopter Piston

Career Path

An aircraft maintenance engineer is fully responsible for ensuring an aircraft operates safely and in compliance with the aircraft manufacturer maintenance standards. A licensed aircraft engineer may make maintenance repairs troubleshoot problems on aircraft systems, conduct an airworthiness inspection and make upgrades to aircrafts part or structure that related to the continuity of aircraft airworthiness. Daily duties may include keeping records of a performed scheduled maintenance, making emergency repairs, or preparing for any required inspections.
