Course Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Technology program educates and trains students in the areas of building construction including construction project design, development and management. The curriculum offers a 50/50 combination of theoretical and laboratory coursework and it emphasizes applications of mathematics, science and engineering principles to implementation, development and improvement of current technology. the program is most suitable for students who prefer applications and hands-on laboratory experience over theory.

Objectives

The B.S. in Construction Engineering Technology program will produce graduates who:

  • Enter into and advance their careers in construction, operation and/or maintenance of buildings and infrastructures utilizing their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in managing and inspecting construction projects, analyzing and estimating cost and specifying construction methods and materials.
  • Continue their formal education and obtain advanced degrees such as M.S. in Construction Management, M.B.A (Industrial Management), M.S. in Environmental Studies, M.S. in Technology Management or other related fields.
  • Continue to conduct themselves as both responsible professionals and global citizens, who are aware of and understand ethical issues and societal needs and problems.

Entry Requirement 

Admission Requirements:

Submit an application.

  1. Upload or mail your academic records from all secondary schools attended. If your transcripts, diploma, or any other academic documents are not in English, you MUST include an official English translation. Include any AP, IB, and/or GCE scores. You may be eligible for transfer credit for the following exams and qualifying scores: Metropolitan Campus AP Policy  or Florham Campus AP Policy

    IB Diploma/ Certificates: 5 or higher per Higher Level exam

    GCE A-levels: C or above per A-level exam (up to 6 credits)

  2. Submit a TOEFL, IELTS, PTE-A, or SAT score.

    – An SAT or ACT score is optional for admission but required for higher scholarship consideration.
  3. Submit (2) letters of recommendation from academic references.
  4. Submit a copy of your passport.
  5. Submit a bank statement and Affidavit of Financial Support if you are seeking an F-1 visa.
    – Bank statements must indicate a balance that will cover your first year of tuition and living expenses.
    – The Affidavit of Support must be in the name of the sponsor on your bank statement. Multiple bank statements require an affidavit from each sponsor. Self-sponsored applicants do not need an affidavit.
