Course Overview

Civil Engineering is one of the oldest professions in the world that is constantly updated based on the modern socio-economic reality. BEng (Hons) / MEng Civil Engineering and Construction aim to create professional Civil Engineers engaged in the design, analysis, and supervision of structures of the built space, in order to develop the technical and social infrastructure to improve the quality of life of its member's society.

The science of Civil Engineering deals with the application of technical, scientific and mathematical knowledge in order to utilize the laws of nature and natural resources for the design and construction of construction projects (eg buildings, bridges, water networks, fuel storage tanks) and infrastructure projects (eg airports, road network, ports, dams).

The curriculum is adapted to the needs of Greek industry and development, is highly participatory, and includes courses at both theoretical and laboratory-practical level, where theory is directly linked to laboratory exercises and fieldwork.

The professional activities of the Civil Engineer are related to the various individual aspects of the specific specialty, such as:

  • Preparation of studies that have as object the study and design of buildings, bridges, water supply, and irrigation networks, road network, hydraulic structures (dams, overflows, etc.)
  • Supervision and control of construction and general management of technical projects
  • Preparation of environmental impact studies of projects.
  • Provision of technical services for maintenance, repair, and reinforcement of technical projects.
  • Carrying out expertise on construction pathology.

Entry Requirement 

Academic Requirements:

The English language requirements for undergraduate (Bachelor) programmes is a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or 6, or equivalent, depending on the programme and year or level of entry. The specific requirements for your chosen programme of study, including individual component scores, are outlined on the programme page.

Admission Requirements:

The program is aimed at graduates of secondary education, who wish to develop professionally in the field of Finance.

  • Letters of Recommendation from Lyceum teachers
  • ID Card
  • Identity photos
  • Degree/certificate of English language proficiency (only where required)
  • Other qualifications (if any)
  • Application for Registration of the Metropolitan College
  • The evaluation of the above-supporting documents is completed by the personal interview selection of the candidates.
