Course Overview

You will develop a range of highly important skills for the event industry from financial decision making, people management and event operations management to marketing and public relations and client management. And to maximise your employability, you will spend 10 weeks working in industry.

Accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) this is one of the few event management courses in the UK that allows you to gain the CMI Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management as part of your degree.

The event management course has been developed to enable the progression from introductory understanding of business concepts in the first year to the necessary critical skills expected of a business graduate in the final year.

The first year covers contemporary management challenges. As it is shared across all our business courses, you'll have the flexibility to transfer to another course if you decide you want to pursue another area, such as marketing or supply chain management.

Year two takes a practical look at the theoretical concepts presented during the first year and provides an opportunity to engage in work-based learning through our industry internship scheme.

Year three will integrate your academic knowledge and develop a deep understanding of the inter-disciplinary nature of business.

Teaching

There are 14 hours of teaching per week plus one hour per week of student support.

Modules are delivered over 10 week blocks.
