Course Overview

What will you study on this course?

Business Management will provide insights and expertise in specific business functions such as marketing, human resource management, accounting, and finance. You will study specialised topics such as entrepreneurship and international business. You will also develop an awareness of the wider environment in which businesses operate, by studying subjects such as business economics and business law.

Italian will give you advanced skills in the Italian language, and a broad range of specialised and detailed insights into the culture, society and history that go with it. You will take core modules developing the key oral, aural and written skills each year.

Careers

Many Business School graduates pursue careers in areas such as accountancy, banking, investment, insurance, risk management, marketing, human resource management and retail management. Studying Modern Languages opens the door to a wide variety of careers. Many Bangor Modern Languages graduates have, of course, gone into teaching and translating, but just as many have embarked upon successful careers in the civil service, business and commerce, industry and the media. The skills you learn whilst studying languages - cultural awareness, communication, accuracy, planning and logical analysis - are valued highly by employers from all sectors of the economy.

Entry Requirement 

Academic Requirements:

GCSE Maths at grade C/4 required if not demonstrated by the Level 3 qualification.
Offers are tariff-based, 80 - 120 tariff points, from Level 3 qualifications* e.g.:

  • A-Levels (including grade C or above in a relevant language. No language required for language beginners pathway)
  • BTEC National/Extended Diploma and Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma: MMP  - DDM**
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma (including grade H5 in a relevant language. No language required for language- beginners’ pathway)
  • Access: Pass **
  • City & Guilds Advanced Technical/Extended Diploma: considered on a case by case basis
  • Welsh Baccalaureate is accepted.

**Can be considered in conjunction with grade C in A level or IB Higher in a relevant language.

International Candidates: school-leaving qualifications and college diplomas are accepted from countries worldwide (subject to minimum English Language requirements).

IELTS (SELT or Non-SELT) or IELTS Indicator(tests taken from 1st July onwards)

Fees

The cost of a full-time undergraduate course is £9000 per year.

The fee for all placement international and sandwich years is £1350
