Course Overview

At Leicester, our management courses will transform your outlook on how society’s resources are managed by engaging with our world-leading academic knowledge and carefully-designed modules. You will be among the first to study at our new £16 million Brookfield campus, with facilities exclusive to our School of Business students.

If you are fascinated by the relationship between employers and employees then our Human Resource Management BA is for you. We will expose you to the realities of the managerial experience in both the public and private sectors, and the relevance of theory for the solution of management problems. You will combine your studies of management with a specialist focus on organizational studies. This allows you to acquire a wide range of critical and analytical skills, along with a range of communication and team-working skills, which will be directly transferable to the workplace whatever career you choose to follow.

You will gain a comprehensive grounding in the functions of management and its role in successfully managing people and organizations. This is underpinned by critical analysis of the organizational context in which managers and employees work.

The first year of this degree is shared with the following degrees:

  • Business and Management BA (renamed from Management Studies BA for 2021/22 onward)
  • Marketing BA

Entry Requirement 

Academic Requirements:

  • A/AS-levels: ABB. All subjects accepted. Two AS-levels may be considered in place of one A-level;
  • EPQ with A-levels: BBB + EPQ at grade B
  • GCSE: Mathematics and English Language at grade C (4).
  • Access to HE Diploma: Pass relevant diploma with 45 credits at Level 3, including 30 credits at Distinction;
  • International Baccalaureate: Pass Diploma with 30 points overall with a minimum of grade 4 in SL Maths, grade 3 in HL Maths or grade 5 in SL Maths Studies if not held at GCSE.
  • BTEC Nationals: Full Diploma with DDM, Diploma in Business preferred.

English Language Requirements:

IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If your first language is not English, you may need to provide evidence of your English language ability. If you do not yet meet our requirements, our English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) offers a range of courses to help you to improve your English to the necessary standard.

Fees

UK/EU Student Fee:

  • £9250 in your first year. Tuition fees are subject to government regulations and may change in future years
  • Year Abroad: your fee will be £1250 for that year
  • Year in Industry: your fee will be 15% of the full-time tuition fee that applies in that year

If you are a resident outside the UK and the Republic of Ireland you will need to pay a deposit of £2000 to secure your place. This will be subtracted from your total tuition fee.

International Student Fee:

  • £17450 per year
  • Year Abroad: £4326.50 which is 25% of the full-time tuition fee
  • Year in Industry: £2617.50 which is 15% of the full-time tuition fee
