Course Overview

You focus on the strategic principles of marketing and the relationship to marketing theories. You also focus on a range of topical issues, as well as advertising, public relations, use of technology and brand awareness in marketing.

Through this module, learners will develop the knowledge and skills needed to manage customer services, through an understanding of organisations promoting a customer focussed culture. Learners will examine the nature of a customer service culture within travel and tourism environments and associated sectors through a detailed evaluation of travel and tourism industry customer service policies and procedures. They will also develop an appreciation of the importance of information gathered from customers and its relevance to improved delivery of services using a range of research methods. Learners will be expected to develop management skills through the creation of a customer service policy and related procedure which will be linked to the placement secured in the Work-Related Project module.

This module enables students to study the aviation sector at a management level. It examines human resource issues, as well as the strategic marketing of the industry. An additional emphasis is placed on the external impacts of the aviation industry, sustainability and environmental impacts.

You focus on the development of the aviation and tourism industry post-war. You examine key UK, EU and worldwide organisations and their role within the sectors. Additionally, you identify detailed evidence of UK, EU and international trade and business and the effects they have on the aviation and tourism sectors.

Entry Requirement 

The entry criteria are based on your ability to succeed and can be demonstrated in a variety of ways including: a range of Level 3 qualifications (NVQ 3, BTEC Award, A-Level) appropriate training through work

English and maths at GCSE grade 4 (grade C) or above (or equivalent).
