Course Overview

It will provide you with a broad-based understanding of business while teaching you the importance of accounting and finance functions within an organisation.

You will develop your analytical skills and ability to communicate ideas and financial information. By studying the role of accounting information and practices in corporate scandals that occur through time and continue to challenge modern society, you will develop core disciplines that are valued highly by employers.

All students will take part in a business simulation task, imitating the experience of running a business with a group of fellow students.

This degree also gives you accreditation towards accounting examinations from professional bodies ACCA, CIMA, and ICAEW.

During your second year you have a variety of unique opportunities to get involved in such as studying abroad, enterprise projects, internships or simply continue with your studies. The course can be studied over three years full-time or four years with a placement.

You will need one of the following:

  • A-levels – BBB, excluding General Studies; or
  • BTEC Extended Diploma – DDM; or
  • 120 UCAS Tariff points from three A-levels or equivalent qualifications, excluding General Studies; and
  • GCSEs – English and Maths grade C / 4.

NTU may admit a student with advanced standing beyond the beginning of a course, through an assessment of that student's prior learning, whether it is certificated or uncertificated. Our Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer Policy outlines the process and options available to these prospective students, such as recognising experiential learning or transferring to a similar course at another institution, otherwise known as credit transfer.

English Language Requirements

We accept a range of English language qualifications, including IELTS.

You’ll need to achieve the required grade in one of our accepted English language tests, such as IELTS.

In most cases, the grades specified are acceptable for courses requiring an IELTS 6.5 (with 5.5 in each component) unless otherwise stated.

Please note there are different types of IELTS tests available, and it is important that you take the correct one.
