Course Overview

Prepares educators to become advocates for multilingual learners in school districts by exploring the opportunities and challenges among Latinx students.

If you feel passionate about elevating multilingual learning and inclusivity in your school and district, CU Denver’s MA in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education with a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE) Endorsement K-12 will prepare you for a leadership role in your district.

A master’s degree is an opportunity for practicing, licensed teachers to deepen their knowledge and develop skills. The added endorsement gives you an additional credential in the field. We prepare highly competent professionals through high-quality curriculum and hands-on projects that are relevant, empowering, applicable, student-centered, challenging, and focused on social justice. You also have an option of completing our Bilingual Education Specialist endorsement. Our faculty members help open doors to your dream position in education. You will learn to reflect on culture and how changing times and changing demographics impact teaching practices. You will learn to gather and use assessment results within a strengths-based framework to advocate for appropriate programming, placement, instruction, and ongoing progress monitoring of multilingual students. Our alumni are systems change advocates prepared to support the inclusion of multiple languages in classrooms.
