Course Overview

If you are a professional in health and social care, with a teaching aspect to your role and you’re keen to develop your skills and knowledge in education within your practice setting, then this course will help you to be at the forefront of professional practice education. Your current workplace will be the focus of your learning, so before you can study this course, you'll need to be able to facilitate learning in your practice environment and have the full support from your employer. You will also need the support of a Practice Education Facilitator within your working environment, who will sign off the evidence and hours provided toward meeting the programme requirements.

The course is approved by AdvanceHE, formerly the Higher Education Academy (HEA) as meeting the UK professional standards framework for teaching and supporting learning, so you can be sure that what you learn is up-to-date and relevant.

You will be eligible to apply for associate or fellowship of AdvanceHE when you graduate from the course. You will benefit from learning alongside a range of health professionals to help you to develop the professional, academic, and personal skills needed in educational practice.

Entry Requirement

You need to have an existing professional qualification and evidence of level 6 study in an aspect of health care and social care, such as nursing, radiography, social work or occupational therapy. We will also consider your application if you have experience of working in a relevant field.
