About University of East London

The University of East London has been pioneering futures since 1898: from the 2nd Industrial Revolution through to where we are now, the 4th. We are a careers-led university, dedicated to supporting our students to develop the skills, emotional intelligence, and creativity needed to thrive in a constantly changing world.

Over the 2018-19 academic year the University of East London has been developing and starting to implement a new 10-year strategy, Vision 2028, to transform our curriculum, pedagogy, research impact, and partnerships to make a positive difference to students, graduate and community success. Our ambitious but achievable goal is to become the leading careers-focused, enterprising university in the UK, one which both prepares our students for the jobs of the future and provides the innovation to drive that future sustainably and inclusively.

As part of our Vision 2028 strategic plan, we have been working with staff, students, alumni, partners, and other stakeholders to articulate who we are and what we have to offer. We worked with our stakeholders to come up with a new visual identity that reflects both our heritage and our relevance in the modern world.
We work with global organisations to make our courses entrepreneurial, creative, and inspirational. Wherever our students want to work – in business, technology, teaching, arts, media, science, sport, or the public sector – they will have the skills necessary to adapt to the world of tomorrow and to be the leaders and pioneers of today.

More and more, employers are seeking workers who possess skills such as emotional intelligence and creativity, the ability to think critically and undertake complex problem-solving. That’s why we’ve put these skills at the heart of every one of our degrees, counting towards students’ final qualification. As evidence of these achievements, we give our students a career passport that’ll open doors.
