Course Overview

What you will study

You will study the two core modules and a dissertation, and one optional module:

  • Managing the Learning Environment - 20 credits (core)
  • Developmental Influences on Children and Young People - 20 credits (core)
  • Dissertation - 60 credits (core)
  • Contemporary Issues - 20 credits (optional)
  • Student-Led Focussed Study - 20 credits (optional)

Teaching

You will study three modules during the academic year, each lasting ten weeks. Attendance at the University is on one day a week during term-time. It may be possible to complete the course in one year.

Entry Requirement 

Academic Requirements:

This is a top-up degree. You must be working in a relevant area of childcare and possess a total of 240 credits - 120 at Level 4 and 120 at Level 5. Equivalent work-related qualifications are also acceptable. Those who are unable to demonstrate the relevant academic credits may be eligible for Accreditation of Prior and Experiential Learning (APEL) considerations.
