Course Overview

Program Benefits

Our courses are taught by health professionals who have worked in a wide variety of settings, thus bringing to the classroom diverse, real-world experiences. Many of the courses are offered in online or hybrid formats, as well as on-campus, to afford flexible choices. All students complete the minor prepared to design, implement, manage, and evaluate health education programming and to act as a health resource person to their students, school, and community.

The Health Promotion minor, while typically pursued by students seeking the middle or high school teaching endorsement, also affords an opportunity for non-teacher education majors to learn more about personal and population health. Students majoring in social work, psychology, sociology, business, interdisciplinary studies, and other areas seeking to broaden their understanding of health as it relates to their primary field will benefit from the minor.
