Course Overview

The Quantitative Analysis of Markets & Organizations (QAMO) major is a rigorous course of study in the economic analysis of business decision-making.  Taught by the world-class faculty of the Marriner S. Eccles Institute for Economics and Quantitative Analysis, this new major (launched Fall 2017) prepares students for a broad range of exciting career options.

Entry Requirement 

  • B or higher in MATH 1210/1310 or
  • 4 or higher on the AP Calculus AB exam or
  • 3 or higher on the AP Calculus BC exam
  • B or higher in MATH 1220/1320 or
  • 4 or higher on the AP Calculus BC exam

For interested students not meeting the criteria above, the committee will consider applications on a case-by-case basis. The committee’s decisions will be heavily influenced by performance in quantitative coursework.

The QAMO Major Application requires a personal statement (describing academic interests and career goals), an updated resume, and a Degree Audit. Students should prepare these materials prior to submitting. Resources include:
