Course Overview

Combining our BSc (Hons) Computer Science degree with Master's level material, allows you to further distinguish yourself with an advanced set of professional and technical skills. A MComp Computer Science course also removes the need to source further funding to study a Master's level qualification. On completion, you will be better placed to compete in the graduate jobs market and enter more demanding and rewarding roles.

Combining the theoretical foundations of computation with practical software development, you will develop knowledge and expertise in creating industrial-strength software applications, using up-to-the-minute commercial practices.

Computer science is a wide field, from its theoretical and algorithmic foundations to cutting-edge development in robotics and intelligent systems. You’ll work on real problems in readiness for employment, enabling you to keep up to pace with this rapidly changing field.

You’ll learn about abstraction, complexity, evolutionary change, sharing of common resources, security and concurrency. From system functionality to usability and performance, you’ll also be better placed to solve real-life problems with an understanding of how they affect people’s lives.

Our four-year MComp Computer Science degree gives you the chance to enhance your knowledge in key areas, including advanced data structures and algorithms, distributed computing, and data analysis, with the opportunity to undertake further group or individual project work.
