Course Overview

This degree is perfect for you if you want to focus exclusively on the social science elements of geography involving human, digital and environmental geographies.

This degree involves no physical geography, although there are options available at the interface of physical and human geography exploring, for example, climate change. It also allows you to supplement your geography studies with modules in Sociology, Politics, or Modern Languages.

As you progress through the program you will study options that explore some of the most pressing contemporary geographical challenges including international migration and how this shapes us and the places where we live, environmental governance and justice, gentrification, sustainability, energy, and food security, and critical development geographies. Throughout your degree, there will be an emphasis on gaining practical skills and putting them to use in a critical manner in exciting fieldwork locations in the UK and around the world.
