Course Overview

Because the smart use of data is a competitive factor today, data scientists, system architects, and data consultants are in great demand on the market. In addition to IT topics, there are also teaching units on company analysis and practical consulting projects. In this way, you can make important predictions in the company and play a key role in achieving business goals more effectively.

In the M.Sc. Business Intelligence & Data Science you combine two exciting disciplines: business administration and IT. With extensive methodological knowledge for intelligent data retrieval and evaluation as well as for business consulting and analysis, you meet the requirements of a big data specialist.

In addition, you will spend the third semester abroad at one of our numerous partner universities. Your studies will end with a practice-oriented master's thesis in the 4th semester.

Entry Requirement 

Evidence is required for admission to the course:

  • A successfully completed bachelor's degree comprising at least 180 ECTS points or,
  • An equivalent course of study at a university or technical college or a foreign university of the appropriate rank,
  • The submission of the application documents and,
  • Participation in a multi-level entrance test (written and oral) required.

In the M.Sc. Business Intelligence & Data Science must be the first degree in a course in which at least 15 ECTS in the field of economics (e.g. business administration, economics, business informatics; or related) must be proven. At least 10 ECTS points must have been earned in quantitative subjects (e.g. mathematics, statistics, computer science, market research, econometrics; or related). Missing subject-specific ECTS can be replaced by professional experience in both economics and quantitative specialist knowledge.

If you did not have a bachelor's degree in economics, you can prepare for management studies with the ISM pre-master.

Winter semester: until July 15th

Fees

6180 Euros per semester (1st - 3rd semester) in Dortmund
6480 Euros per semester (1st - 3rd semester) in Munich and Hamburg -monthly payment also possible

Enrollment fee (EU & EEA students): 600 Euros

Enrollment fee (non-EU students): 1500 Euros

Thesis fee (4th semester): 1200 Euros at all campuses
