Course Overview

The program is designed to provide pathways for students who want to pursue careers in the growing field of Information Technology. The students pursuing this program will gain the necessary skills to solve challenges through data analysis and the use of Information Technology.

Learning Outcomes

The mission of the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program is to teach students to core foundational aspects of information technology that will prepare graduates to be successful in a variety of information technology-related professions. The program empowers graduates with the technical acumen required to solve business problems through the use of information technology. Students also learn how to innovate by exploring new and emerging technologies.

Entry Requirement 

Admission Requirements:

The minimum academic requirements to apply to the Bachelor of Information Technology Degree Program are:

Regular Non-Degree Applicants – An applicant who has a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) can apply for entrance into the BSIT program.

Transfer Applicants (90 credits maximum) – Applicants who have earned credit hours from a regionally or nationally accredited institution may transfer up to (30) semester credits towards general education and 30 credits of business core, and up to thirty (30) semester credits towards IT core courses and/or IT electives. Transfer credit does not apply to the BSIT Capstone Project course.

Academic Requirements:

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program consists of a program requirement of 120 credit hours, including 45 credits of Core Information Technology Courses, 30 credits of Business Courses, 30 credits of General Education Courses, 12 credit Elective Courses, and a 3 credit Capstone Course. Students may complete their entire 120 credit Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program by taking all 45 Information Technology, 30 General Education, 30 Core Business, 12 Elective, and 3 Capstone credits at Westcliff University. Alternatively, students may transfer up to 30 General Education credit hours to the University from another accredited school. Students may be granted course waivers for a maximum of 30 credit hours of the required Core Business Courses. In any option, 54 of the 60 General Education credit hours must have academic content. Please refer to the Transfer Credit and Course Waiver Policies for more detailed information and requirements. Students must apply for graduation and meet all academic and financial requirements.
