Course Overview

 You will develop skills in research, analysis, and communication to apply to any career in the sport management, leadership, or governance field.

Throughout the core modules, you will be encouraged to critically apply theories, concepts and frameworks in sport management. You will engage in debates and critical evaluation of the local, national and international context, enabling you to think critically about management in the sports industries.

Workshop delivery will involve critically evaluating current practice and engaging in debates with peers and lecturers. You’ll receive continual support through your studies with formative assessments, which will help to assess your knowledge and understanding.

By choosing assessment titles related to your interest, you will be able to tailor the course towards your own specific career ambitions. Research-informed teaching is embedded at Solent and is a key element of the course curriculum on this master’s programme. Staff delivering on the course are research active and have experience of working in the sector.

Entry Requirement 

English Language Requirements:

Applicants who do not have English as their first language will be required to demonstrate an approved level of proficiency in the use of the English language. The agreed minimum requirements for this course are:

  • IELTS 6.0 with no component score below 5.5
  • TOEFL IBT minimum 80 with a minimum of 20 in each individual component
  • Duolingo English Language Test - 100 overall with a minimum of 90 in each component
  • or equivalent.

Qualifications are checked before enrolment, and international students must bring their original certificates or certified copies when coming to study at the University.

The University also offers a pre-sessional English programme for international students who wish to improve their level of English before starting a degree course.

An honours degree at 2:1 or higher.

Fees

UK and EU full-time fees: £7600 per year

International full-time fees: £13700 per year

UK and Channel Island part-time fees: £3800 per year

International and EU part-time fees: Students from outside the UK are usually unable to obtain a visa for part-time study.
