Course Overview

This stream of the LLM is the ideal grounding if you wish to work in organizations related to this field. With our innovative course design, this course would suit students without a law background and provide you with an in-depth and critical understanding of public international law. You will be able to tailor the course to suit your needs by choosing from a broad range of subjects including the law of armed conflict, the law of the United Nations, international environmental law, international migration law, international criminal law, human rights, and international finance law.

Our seminar-based teaching will focus on discussion and debate and will ensure you have the opportunity to develop your oral presentation skills. You will be assessed primarily through coursework and a final dissertation which will equip you with advanced skills in time management, written communication, planning and self-directed study.

Entry Requirement 

English Language Requirements:

IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, with 6.0 in writing and nothing less than 5.5. If your first language is not English, you may need to provide evidence of your English language ability. If you do not yet meet our requirements, our English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) offers a range of courses to help you to improve your English to the necessary standard.

A good second-class degree or an equivalent degree in an appropriate discipline.

Relevant professional experience post-graduation is given due credit in considering entry requirements.
