Course Overview

Biomedical Scientists staff the modern laboratories of hospitals, performing complex research techniques and providing the information needed for the clinical diagnosis of diseases.

For this purpose, the courses of the Biomedical Sciences program cover all the basic health sciences and offer extensive laboratory practice in the required diagnostic laboratory techniques. Students - in addition to basic knowledge of Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Human Physiology - are taught Molecular Biology and Genetics techniques, as well as their medical applications. Emphasis is also placed on the molecular etiology of diseases and their diagnosis, using specialized methods. Between the 2nd and 3rd year of study, the placement takes place, for 1 year of practice, in respective certified clinical spaces for the acquisition of experience and familiarity with the professional clinical environment.

The BSc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences program covers the cellular and molecular basis of human diseases at the diagnostic and therapeutic level, opening up a wide range of career opportunities for graduates.

Graduates of the program will be well equipped to seek employment in academia and research, in addition to the field of clinical diagnosis.

Biomedical Scientists can work in laboratories of hospitals or diagnostic centers, pursue careers in the field of research as well as in pharmaceutical companies. Their extensive training in the field of Biology also allows them to teach in private education.

Academic Requirements:

The English language requirements for undergraduate (Bachelor) programmes is a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or 6, or equivalent, depending on the programme and year or level of entry. Admission Requirements:

The program is aimed at graduates of secondary education, who wish to develop professionally in the field of Finance.
