Course Overview

 Finance also refers to the process of summarising, analysing and reporting company performance. From the financial statements that summarise a large company's operations, financial position and cash flows over a particular period come a concise summary of the company’s financial performance. This programme aims to provide students with a holistic and wholesome learning approach towards finance with the aim of providing a broad-based education, in the areas of financial and investment context use for decision-making in a variety of business contexts. Students learn the relevant academic principles of finance, skills and knowledge through innovative teaching and learning methodologies. Basically, students will be equipped with communication and analytical skills which will be applied to their work once they graduate.

Entry Requirement 

Academic Requirements:

SPM/O-Level

3 credits or 3 Grade (Cs) including Mathematics and pass in English

UEC

Minimum 3 Grade Bs including Mathematics and pass in English

STPM

Grade (C) (CGPA2.0) in any subject; credit in Mathematics and pass in English at SPM level

A-Level

Minimum Grade D in any one subject 

Other equivalent qualifications accredited by the Malaysian government.

English Language Requirements:

Local Students

Minimum B+ in the English Language subject at SPM or Minimum A2 in UEC level or Minimum C in SPM English Language 1119/ O Level English/ IGCSE or MUET Band 3. If English language requirements are not met, applicants will be required to take the Basic English and English Foundation for in-sessional academic enhancement concurrently with the programme.

Applicants who have an academic qualification from a higher learning institution that uses the English Language as a medium of instruction can be granted an exemption from the University English requirements and MQA requirement.

International Students

  • IELTS minimum Band 5.0 
  • TOEFL  (Internet-based) minimum 42
  • Cambridge English Qualification and Test minimum score of 154
  • Pearson Test of English minimum score 47
  • MUET minimum Band 3 

International applicants who do not meet the respective academic programme’s English Language Requirements will need to improve their proficiency by enrolling into the English for Tertiary Education programme (R/KJP/00920-00929).

Placement into the various levels of the English for Tertiary Education programme depends on the English Language qualification students have at the point of admission and/or the outcome of the English Placement Test.

The applicants who have met the respective academic programme’s English Language Requirement may be advised by Faculty to improve their proficiency by undertaking additional English proficiency courses.
