Course Overview

This specialist course provides an in-depth education in all areas of communication and high-quality preparation for degrees in media and communications-related subjects. You will learn theoretical knowledge and the practical skills needed to succeed in your chosen degree. Students study 18-25 hours per week in class. The course is modular in structure. It has core modules studied by all Foundation students and core modules for the Media Foundation. The core Foundation modules develop academic and English language skills. During the first term of the Media Foundation programme, you will have the opportunity to work with a professional media team to produce a music video for a band or solo artist based at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM). You will work alongside teachers and industry professionals, and have regular contact with the artist, for two hours every week. You will gain a unique industry experience, providing you with skills that will stand out (such as team working, planning and improved subject knowledge) and help you progress to a top university.

Entry Requirement 

Entry requirements: Satisfactory completion of secondary or high school education. 4 GCSEs at C or above.
English language requirements: IELTS 4.5 (IELTS 5.0 for November and January starts)
