Course Overview

This degree includes an integrated foundation year for you if you do not have the appropriate qualification or experience for direct entry to year 1 of the degree. This course includes an optional work placement year, at no extra cost.

The foundation year helps you develop knowledge and skills to make the transition to university study, and in particular, to gain business and management knowledge and develop academic and personal skills to proceed confidently through the remainder of the course. During the foundation year (year 0) you study a range of fundamental business and management subjects and develop important practical academic skills to prepare you for the remainder of your course.

This programme will be particularly of interest to those seeking to pursue careers in the financial services sector including economics, accounting and management in both the commercial and public sectors.

Entry Requirement

Admission Requirements:

A typical offer is 32-64 tariff points from at least two A levels (or equivalent) and GCSE grade 4 (grade C) or above (or equivalent) in maths.

Entry for foundation degrees is based on your ability to succeed. This can be demonstrated through having a range of level 3 qualifications (NVQ 3, BTEC Award, A level) and may include appropriate training through work.

Degrees with Integrated Foundation Years

Degrees with an integrated foundation year are 4 or 5 years in length, depending on whether you undertake a placement year as well.

As a minimum, you would normally need a pass in at least one A level, or equivalent level 3 qualifications. You may also need GCSE passes at grade 4 (or C) or above, or other levels 2 qualifications. These may be required in specific subjects, depending on your university course but please visit the relevant course page for more details, including any additional course requirements such as an interview, portfolio or audition.
