Course Overview

MAHSA’s Post Basic Certificate in Renal Nursing programme is a 6 months programme, aimed to produce Renal Nurses who are professional, knowledgeable and competence in providing safe and skilful nursing care to end-stage renal disease patients.

This programme is largely conducted at MAHSA University, and the clinical practices are in hospitals and clinics. Candidates will be supervised by our dedicated and experienced clinical instructors/preceptors.

Upon successfully completing this programme, candidates will be awarded “Post Basic Certificate in Renal Nursing” by MAHSA.

Entry Requirement 

Registered with the Nursing Board of Malaysia.

Possess a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) for nurses.

Minimum 2 years of clinical working experience.

Possess 2 months experience in haemodialysis.

The candidate must be certified medically fit by a registered medical practitioner within 1 week of commencement of programme.

The candidate with any of the following medical conditions cannot be admitted into the programme such as:

HIV / AIDS, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Mental health disorders, Epilepsy, Colour blindness.

The candidate must not have any physical disabilities or impaired senses that hinder nursing dexterity.

Pregnancy is not allowed throughout the course.
